3Date: January 2025Position SummaryThe Donor Engagement will
oversee donor relationships, engage monthly donors, and support
event planning efforts. This role involves cultivating meaningful
relationships with donors, maintaining accurate records, and
collaborating with the Development team to execute impactful
fundraising events and activities.Key Responsibilities
- Donor Relationship
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with individual donors to
secure and increase support for the Bay Area Rescue Mission
(BARM).
- Manage a defined portfolio of donors, including monthly donors,
ensuring personalized engagement and consistent follow-ups.
- Identify donors with the potential to increase giving and
provide growth opportunities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to donor inquiries and
requests, providing exceptional customer service.
- Acknowledge all gifts promptly and appropriately, aligning with
BARM's stewardship standards.
- Maintain a consistent schedule of donor thank-you letters,
calls, and visits.
- Proactively communicate BARM's mission, needs, and impact to
donors.
- Event Support
- Assist with fundraising events, including two major events and
other smaller initiatives throughout the year.
- Collaborate with the Events Manager and Development team to
ensure seamless event operations and donor participation.
- Support event logistics, including guest lists, donor
communication, and on-site coordination.
- Data Management
- Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM (Raiser's Edge),
ensuring data integrity and accessibility for the Development
team.
- Enter donor and donation information, including online, EFT,
Network for Good, and PayPal transactions.
- Update donor profiles, correct information, and combine
duplicate records as necessary.
- Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support, including printing, copying,
and preparing correspondence.
- Manage office tasks such as answering phones, processing
over-the-phone donations, and completing filing.
- Collaborate with the Development team to complete additional
projects and tasks as needed.
- Mission Engagement
- Actively pray for BARM donors and participate in ministry
activities.
- Share the Gospel and promote BARM's mission through
interactions with donors and the community.Skills and
QualificationsRequired Skills
- Committed Christian with compassion for the homeless and
addicted.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of
Raiser's Edge is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to
detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive
information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and highly productive.
- Strong data entry and typing skills (55+ WPM).Preferred
Qualifications
- Previous experience in donor management or nonprofit
fundraising.
- Experience in helping with event planning or supporting
large-scale initiatives.
- Familiarity with statistical reporting and CRM systems.Working
Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Sitting: Requires extended periods of sitting.
- Fine Motor Skills: Frequent use of fingers and hands.
- Visual Acuity: Requires strong visual focus for computer-based
tasks.
- Travel: The position involves occasional travel, primarily
within the Bay Area.
- Environment: Typical office environment with regular use of a
computer.
