  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced MedSurg/Telemetry nurses for a travel contract. The right candidate will be able to read/interpret EKG strips, have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.

    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CA License
    • Good customer service skills and communication skills required
    • Prior to acceptance, the DYS EXAM (BASIC) through UNA is required along with acceptance. Must be completed within 24-48 hrs. It's pass or fail and they get 2 attempts.
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hr shifts. 7 - 730. Report is at the bedside.
      • OT and extra shifts are available.
      • Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
      • Schedules are out 4 weeks.
      • Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
      • Block scheduling is generally not available.
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
      • Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years). Managers will make the final call on scheduling.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Ratios: 1:4-5. 1:4 if all tele patients.
        • EMR: Cerner
        • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: All medical - general mix. Post op orthopedics and general surgeries.
        • Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
        • Tele: Yes
        • Vents: No
          • Additional Details
          • Modules are required to be done before start. Modules take 3-4 hours - not billable.
          • For Holiday RTO: Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
