Position description
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)
at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100%
time) academic Physiatrist. The position will serve as a faculty
member at the Assistant Professor rank in the Clinical X
series.
The UC Davis Department of PM&R is the premiere rehabilitation
service provider in the greater Sacramento region and is located on
the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, California. UC Davis
Health has engaged in a joint venture to launch a new 52 bed
inpatient rehabilitation hospital on the UC Davis Health campus
which opened in 2023. Sacramento is an easily accessible,
family-oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay
area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California
coast, and Napa Valley.
Requirements:
This position will provide both inpatient and outpatient Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation patient care with a focus on
neurorehabilitation. Outpatient clinics (20-40%) will focus on
brain injury, poly trauma stroke, spasticity management including
baclofen pumps, and general PM&R care. Inpatient
responsibilities to include adult acute inpatient rehabilitation
wards and consults with PM&R resident support.
This position will provide both formal and didactic sessions and
clinical supervision for students and house staff, as well as
participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital and
departmental committees. This position will participate in
evening/weekend/holiday call for the UC Davis PM&R inpatient
rehabilitation call.
This recruitment is conducted at the Assistant rank. The resulting
hire will be at the Assistant rank regardless of the proposed
appointee's qualifications.
